Workforce diversity is a valuable asset for any business that a competitive advantage in the global economy. As per the Roosevelt (2001) managing diversity in the organization will create a strong and competitive enterprise and within the industry.

Some of the key characteristics of workforce diversity include race, ethnicity, gender, age, religion, ability, and sexual orientation. A company that embraces diversity can broaden skill base and become more competitive and innovative. Workforce diversity has become many numbers of benefits and challenges.
Workforce diversity includes the differences and similarities of the employees. Organizational performance is the extent to which the organizational objectives and goals are being achieved. Bell (2011) stated that workforce diversity is important for increasing the level of employee’s flexibility and creativity within the organization. Organizations stand to gain several benefits from having a diverse workforce. According to the study published in the Harvard business revive diverse firms are 45% more likely to report a growth in market share over the previous year and 70% likelier to get into the new market.

Advantages of workforce diversity
workplace diversity increases the employee morale and employees to drive to work more effectively and efficiently. Diversity in leadership within a firm allows managers to bring new skills and methods for achieving unity within their teams. Therefore, increase the productivity. For example, Saudi Aramco focuses on attracting the human resources from all over the world in order to use their professional potential for contributing to the organization’s intensive progress. It is stated on the company’s website that the company “is pleased to provide support for candidates from North America interested in careers working for Saudi Aramco in Saudi Arabia” and “employees benefit from the experiences, abilities and perspectives of a multinational multidisciplinary workforce” (Saudi Arabian Oil Co., 2012). Today Saudi Aramco uses a lot of opportunities to expand the possibilities to attract the highly qualified professionals from different regions in order to promote the company’s greater productivity with basing on diverse and creative ideas of the multinational team.

 Workforce diversity increase in the creativity within the company and they have successfully created an innovative process by taking ideas from several employees. the language skills and positive reputation in within the organization. The company can get a better financial result; numerous studies have found than homogenous business. Workforce diversity crate the global level competition and employees improved to get the fact-based decision making. cross-cultural understanding teams create the better working environment, and they have a good cultural understanding.
Amazon joined its statistics with a long narrative about the work it is doing in increasing diversity both within the company and in the industry itself.   Getting straight into the numbers, Amazon has revealed that its overall global workforce breaks down to 63-percent male and 37-percent female; this number skews more heavily when looking at global management, however, which shows that 75-percent are men and 25-percent women. overall the company’s workers are 60-percent White, 15-percent Black, 13-percent Asian, 9-percent Hispanic, and 3-percent “Other”. As with the gender numbers, these statistics skew when looking at management specifically, which is comprised of 71-percent White, 18-percent Asian, 4-percent Hispanic, 4-percent Black, and likewise 3-percent as “Other.”
